LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP WITH PURPOSE
INF Risk Management was founded to be more than a compliance provider. We are a trusted partner to Financial Services Providers navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment. We believe effective compliance goes beyond policies and regulatory checklists. It is about embedding good governance, ethical conduct, accountability and fair customer outcomes into the way a business operates. Our approach is practical, risk-based and outcomes-focused. We translate complex regulatory requirements into workable solutions that strengthen businesses, support better decision-making and put the client’s best interest at the heart of compliance.
Compliance should work in practice — not only exist on paper.
Andrea Venter is the Founder and Managing Director of INF Risk Management (Pty) Ltd and an experienced legal, regulatory compliance, governance and risk management professional. At the heart of both Andrea’s professional philosophy and the culture of INF is a steadfast commitment to one principle: acting in the client’s best interest.
For Andrea, this is more than a regulatory obligation — it is fundamental to ethical financial services, sound governance and sustainable business.
An admitted Attorney, FSCA-approved Compliance Officer and JSE Derivatives Compliance Officer, Andrea combines a strong legal foundation with extensive practical experience across financial services regulation, corporate governance, risk management, compliance and commercial contracting.
She holds an LLB from the University of Pretoria and an LLM in Private Law, specialising in Contract Law, from the University of South Africa, together with a Certificate in Compliance Management from the University of Cape Town.
Andrea began her professional career in legal practice, focusing predominantly on conveyancing, commercial and property law, before moving into the financial services industry as a Financial and Investment Adviser. This provided her with valuable first-hand experience of financial advice, client engagement and the commercial and regulatory realities facing financial advisers and Financial Services Providers.
Her career subsequently expanded into the microfinance sector, where she gained further experience in financial services regulation, operational risk management and compliance.
Andrea later joined Cargill, a leading global company, where she held the position of Regional Contracts Desk Lead, with responsibility across South Africa, Zambia and Kenya. Working within a complex multinational corporate environment further developed her expertise in commercial contracting, contract risk, corporate governance, internal controls and the management of legal and commercial risk across multiple jurisdictions.
Her career subsequently evolved into specialised roles spanning regulatory compliance, corporate governance, enterprise risk management and internal audit, giving her a broad perspective of compliance not simply as a regulatory function, but as an integral part of how a well-governed business operates.
Today, through INF Risk Management, Andrea works closely with Financial Services Providers to translate complex regulatory obligations into practical, proportionate compliance frameworks, controls and processes that can be implemented, evidenced and embedded within the business.
Her approach is grounded in a simple principle: Compliance should work in practice — not only exist on paper.
Andrea is particularly passionate about ethical leadership, accountability and instilling conscience in business. She believes that the strongest compliance environments are created when businesses understand not only what the regulations require, but why those requirements matter — and when acting in the client’s best interest becomes part of the culture rather than simply a regulatory requirement.
This philosophy underpins INF Risk Management’s approach to every client relationship: Educate | Empower | Inspire
